Dirty Fun

This past weekend the girls had a blast playing in lots of dirt. Friday evening we headed down to Grannie's to help plant the garden. The girls took plenty of sandbox toys to use in the garden. Everyone was up and at it early Saturday morning. The girls helped plant four rows of potatoes, a row of onions, some cabbage and cauliflower. When planting the potatoes, Leightyn would place them correctly in the dirt and then Mylea would come right behind her placing her potato next to Leightyn's . Leightyn said that she like the onions the best because she got to dig a hole with her finger.

After we finished the garden, a game of baseball began. Leightyn was excited to play until she got up to bat. The sound of the ball hitting the bat scared her so she decided that she would rather play in the dirt. I wonder if this is a sign of what is to come during T-Ball season. I guess our daughter will be the one that would rather play in the dirt. Oh well....! Mylea enjoyed eating several plates of strawberries, shortcake, and ice cream.

We had a great time with family this weekend. We are ready to plant the rest of the garden. And the girls are ready for more dirt.
