Children's Hayride

Tonight we took Leightyn to a hayride with her church friends. The kids got to ride horses, go on several hayrides, roast marshmallows, eat smores, and sing songs around the fire. Leightyn had a blast. It was so cute to watch this little three year old run around thinking she was as big as the 8, 9, and 10 year olds. Although many kids didn't come out and brave the cold, we have a lot of fun on this cold cold night.

Vacation Fun

Landen and I are having a great time on vacation. I must say that I have not seen Landen this relaxed in a long time. I have to admit though....it is very quiet and kinda strange not having the girls here running around. Yesterday we went on an airboat ride through the alligator infested swamps. We had a blast flying across the swamp. We spent the rest of the afternoon at the beach. I would have thought the water would have been cold, but we were able to play in it up to our knees.

Today we are going to head back to the beach and tomorrow we will drive a few hours to spend the day in New Orleans....I will post pictures when we get back this weekend.

Little Bo Peep and The Lost Sheep

We had a great Halloween! Leightyn has loved her Little Bo Peep costume since she got it. The biggest problem was dealing with her new long hair. Mylea wasn't to sure what was going on, but she thought it was funny when she was dressed as a sheep. I decided to make a day of it. I got the girls ready early and took them to Toys R Us for a costume parade with Geoffery the Giraffe. Leightyn didn't get to close to the giraffe at first. Mylea was all over him.

After Toys R Us, we headed back home to see what our neighbors Macy and Ava were dressed as. Macy was dressed as a ladybug. Here are some pictures of Leightyn, Mylea, and Macy.

After taking some pictures, we hopped on Curtis' golfcart and headed up the street to see Ava.

Ava wasn't home yet, but her daddy (Graham) had plenty of candy to hand out. This was Leightyn's 4th Halloween but only her first time to go trick or treating. She now thinks that if she says "Trick or Treat", someone has to give her candy.

After having fun in the neighborhood, we headed to church for a few hours to have fun at the carnival. There were all kinds of games set up, candy and toys to win, and lots of food to eat.
Mylea loved playing the duck game. Leightyn had a hard time picking out her candy.
At this game, Leightyn had to throw the rubber egg into the frying pan.

Mylea helped kids knock down their bowling pins.

Playing basketball

After playing at church, we headed over to my dad and mom's for their annual Halloween bash. Curtis, Bethany, and Macy met us over there for snacks and trick or treating. Curtis, Bethany, Macy, Leightyn, Mylea, and me all loaded up on the "vroom vroom" (gator) and went trick or treating. I guess people quit handing out candy after 9:00 because very few lights were on. We did find about five houses to go to. Leightyn would walk up to the door, say trick or treat, say thank you, and then ask if it was time to go to another house. We did this over and over before heading back to hand out candy at mom and dad's.
The kids seemed to have a great time. Leightyn has already informed me that she will be sleeping in her costume and wearing it to church on Sunday......we shall see about that.
