Great Day To Go To The Park.......Or So I Thought

This morning we decided to skip storytime (we were late anyways) and head to the park instead. Leightyn and Mylea love going to the Dinosaur (Carol Ann Cross) Park. When we got to the park we were the only ones there. That was great....Leightyn could play where she wanted and I could still keep tabs on Mylea and Macy.

Mylea loves the twisty slides.

Leightyn showing Mylea how to walk across the snake.

This is how we swing together when there is only one swing open. The girls love it.

Mylea walking across the "shaky" bridge. She likes to sit on it while kids run across it.

While getting off the "shaky" bridge and getting on the steps to go to the twisty slide, Mylea went teeth first into the step. Here is a picture of her cleaned up.....I guess we should have gone on to storytime instead....

Quick Update

I'm back in the blogging world. I haven't wrote much lately because nothing big has been going on. So, I guess I will do a quick update on all of the little things going on.

Leightyn and Mylea are doing great. They still love playing dress up. Leightyn is teaching Mylea to play hide and go seek, but Mylea doesn't understand the hiding part. She likes to walk around looking for other people.

Landen signed Lei up for T-ball. She is excited about getting to use a real bat and not her plastic play bat. She told Daddy that she wanted pink shoes and a pink glove. Daddy's reply was "I'm not so sure about all of that". Leightyn will get to be on the same team as Logan (her "friend" from church). Landen and Chad (Logan's dad) are going to help coach.

I have been taking the girls to a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group once a week. The girls go to their own class to hear a Bible story, make a craft, and then play in Eastside's new play place. While they are in class, I get to go to my mom's group. It is great getting to have two hours of adult conversation. We have done a kick boxing session, a Bible Study, scrapbook craft session, and just plain adult conversation in the last three weeks. We will continue to go to MOPS as long as the kids are not in school.

We are staying very busy during the week:
Tuesday- gymnastics and then we have a lunch picnic at Grandma Nancy's
Wednesday- MOPS in the morning and then AWANAs at night
Thursday- library storytime
Friday- Fun Friday....Leightyn gets to pick the activity

Leightyn has started her own chore chart. She has several chores to complete every day: making her bed, brushing her teeth, picking up toys, putting up dishes, setting the table, help mommy clean....etc. At the end of the week, she gets 5 cents for ever chore completed. She has to put 10% of her earning in a envelope for church, 20% in her piggy bank to save, and then the other 70% goes in her shopping tub for whatever she wants. Right now, she loves doing her chores... hopefully this will last.

We took some pictures last night.....enjoy

New Haircut

It seems that Leightyn is looking for her calling in life. She must have thought that her first calling was to be a beautician. Well, let's just say that that job will not be her calling right now. Leightyn used her scissors to cut her hair. Let me remind you that "her" scissors are the blunt kind that are made to cut nothing....except they seem to work great on bangs. When asked why she cut it, her reply was "Momma cuts Mylea's hair". She doesn't seem to be real bothered about it. When she was talking to her Uncle WeWe, she asked him if he needed a hair cut. Let's just hope this doesn't happen again.

We've Got Bugs.......

....Love Bugs.....that is!

I love Valentine's day. I think that it is a holiday where fun things can be done all month long. (And yes, I also see why guys think that there is no need for a holiday to prove you love someone) This year, I made each of the girls a mailbox. Leightyn and Mylea each get a little surprise every morning in their box from the "Love Bugs". Leightyn cracks me up...it takes her some time to fully wake up in the morning, but as soon as she remembers the Love Bugs, she is up and out of bed running to check her mail. Mylea gets excited when Leightyn shows her the present inside her mail box.

So....I guess it is good to have bugs if they are love Bugs!

Props to Landen

I just have to brag on my wonderful husband. I hardly mention Landen on here but today he deserves a blog for himself. Thursday nights I go to Bible Study from 6:00 till a little after 8. Yesterday was one of those days where I didn't know if I was going to make it out the door in time. Macy had just left, supper was almost finished, the girls needed to eat, and it was amazing how many toys were back in the floor (after being put up several times).

When I walked in the door last night after class, the house was spotless...no toys, no dishes, no messes...NOTHING! Both girls had had a bath and Mylea was already sleeping. Leightyn was "resting" until bedtime. It was so nice to come home to a clean, calm, peaceful house. Thank you Landen for working hard while I was gone. You have no idea how nice it was to walk in with everything done. I love you!

Cookies For A Cause

Sunday at church we had our annual "Chili Cook-Off and Dessert Auction". All money raised helps with the cost of children's camp this summer. Leightyn made festive Valentine cookies for the dessert auction.

She had several different cookie cutters to choose from.

The cookies were covered in decorations.

YUMMY!!
