Last Saturday we went on a train ride with Santa and his elves.
We met them at the depot in Van Buren and planned to take a trip to Winslow.
The girls were excited to board the train. Mylea was excited to see it was a real train and not the Creekmore Park train. Landry couldn't believe her eyes when we pulled in the parking lot. Over and over she kept going "choo choo".
Grandad Santa even joined us for the ride.
Finally, an hour late, we were allowed to board the train. We had some really neat seats up in the Vista Dome. We had a 360 degree view all around us.
Whenever Landry would hear "choo choo", she would make this face and hand movement.
This is how we all felt by the time the train finally started moving. By this point, we were an hour and half late. The kids were hungry and tired. Chicken cordon bleu, hashbrown casserole, and fancy green beans were served for dinner. Mylea opted for a ChickFilA sandwich instead.
Santa came to see us and gave everyone some jingle bells.
Pumpkin spice Carmel cake, sugar cookies, hot chocolate, and candy canes were handed out on the way back to Van Buren.
Our friend Trey, from church, was sitting in the same area with us.
Mylea is already asking to go again next year. I think we will opt for the shorter ride next time.
