St Louis (Part 2)

Saturday was Linden's birthday. We spent the day at the arch, Union Station, baseball game, and then finished with a birthday dinner.

Our hotel was in a great location. We were two blocks from the stadium and across the street from the arch. This was the view from our window.

After getting up and around Saturday morning, we headed to the Arch. We quickly made it through security and got our tickets to go to the top. I love the little pods you sit in to get to the top. The doors to enter the pod are only four foot tall. The whole thing makes me think of the oompa lumpa doors on Willy Wanka.

The view from the top is amazing. You can see for miles and miles.

After the arch, we headed to Union Station. The station is an old train station that had been turned in to a mall and place for resturants. We walked around for about an hour before eating lunch at Hard Rock (they have the best nachos).

The guys decided to try out the Hurricane machine. When you enter, the wind starts blowing (up to 80mph) to see if you can stand during a hurricane winds.

As you can tell, it was a long, tiring day.....

After Union Station we headed back to the hotel before heading to another game (which we won!) .

It was a great, adventurous, and sometimes crazy weekend.

St Louis (Part 1)

For Landen's 30th birthday, I planned a trip to St Louis to watch the Braves play against the Cardinals. When I ordered the tickets, Landen had no clue that he was going or that his family was going with him. For a few years, we have discussed taking his Uncle Larry and Aunt Charlene (die hard Cardinal fans) to a game in St Louis. They were super excited about going to see a game. Landen's dad, Mel, Lloyd, and Amanda also tagged along with us.

We headed out of Fort Smith this past Friday around 7:45 in the morning. My one request on this trip was to eat lunch at Lambert's in Ozark, MO. If you have never ate there.....you must. I think it is worth a three hour drive just for the food. Everything on the menu is home cookin and is delicious! You order your meal (I usually get chicken fried steak with mashed potato's and 2 sides). While you wait on your meal and while eating, servers walk around and dish out extra sides on your paper towels for extra food. There is also a server that walks around and throws hot, fresh, homemade rolls at you.

This is the small chef salad that Uncle Larry ordered to go with his vegetable plate. The picture does not do it justice. The salad was about the size of a medium pizza. It was stacked tall with toppings and placed in a bread bowl that looked more like a plate.

After a great lunch, we got back back on the road for St. Louis. This was the view of the arch as we got close to our hotel.

After checking in the hotel, we changed in to our Braves attire (except for Cardinal Charlene) and walked a few blocks to the stadium. Since batting practice was just starting, we stood behind the dugout trying to get some autographs (we were successful) until the game started.

The picture is REALLY bad but the scoreboard says "Happy Birthday Landen".

Charlene had a great time cheering for her Cardinals.

Guess what!!!!! The Braves won the game. This was the first time I have seen them win a game.

Mylea loves to walk around in her high heel shoes. She now has the perfect hat and purse to match her orange shoes. Maybe next time her shoes will match!

Like Mother Like Daughter

I was making cupcakes for Awanas when I heard Mylea waking up from her nap. I left the batter on the cabinet and went to check on her. When I came back to the kitchen, this is what I found...........

BUSTED!!!!!!! Leightyn had the bowl on the floor, using a measuring cup to eat the batter.

What can I say......she is just like her momma!

Caution: This Toy Is Not....

Have you ever notice that some toys have a caution warning that reads: this toy is not intended for children but for dolls?

PaPaw got Mylea a baby bed, high chair, bath, closet, changing table all in one for her birthday. The other night, Landen was putting Mylea's birthday present together when I notice this warning on the box. I laughed and made a comment about that warning being useless.....we all know that this baby table is for a doll not for children. Well, leave it to my girls to ignore the warning. I walked in the playroom and this is what I saw.....


Mylea was taking a bath while Leightyn moved the mobile trying to put herself to sleep in the bed.


A few minutes later it was Mylea's turn to go to sleep.

Football season is here. We love having friends over to enjoy some great food and a great game (hopefully). This past Saturday we had our first Razorback party of the season. We had many friends to chit chat with and tons of food to snack on. Leightyn and Mylea had fun watching some of the game and playing the rest of the time.

My Baby Is 2! (Tear Tear)

I can't believe Mylea is 2! Where have the past two years gone?

We had Mylea's party this past Saturday. We woke up to a rainy day and I was worried about having a water slide during the storm. However, an hour later, the rain was gone and we were able to play on the slide and swim. It was a great day for a party. The carnival themed food was delicious and the cakes were awesome! Mylea got some great gifts and has enjoyed playing with all of them.
