Christmas Activity #6

The Chick Fil A Santa and Elf cow made a visit last week. We loaded up all the girls for an early morning "Cookies and Milk" snack. Mylea "A" were excited to see the cows. I wasn't sure how Landry would do, but she couldn't quit watching them. The Elf cow had some jungle bells on her shows. Mylea has now added jingle shoes to her Christmas list. 

All the Excitement

Monday night, when DHS called about a placement, Mylea was 100% excited. She grabbed some  baby wipes and began scrubbing everything. We were told that the child would arrive in an hour. Well, almost two and a half hours later, Mylea was climbing the walls in anticipation. 

It's been a complete learning process for us but I am so thankful for beautiful 

weather so I can say "go play outside".

Christmas Activity Night #4

Monday night, our Christmas activity was to make a gingerbread house. This is always one of Mylea's favorite things to do. All day she talked about how she wanted it to look and what candy she wanted to use. When Daddy made it home from work, it was time to the messy fun to begin. 

 After digging around in the pantry, Mylea found some extra items to add to her house. She wanted a dot pattern on the roof. As we began to work on the sides, we received a phone call from DHS about a child placement. We finally received a call that we felt comfortable accepting. So, in all the excitement about a kid coming, Mylea quickly lost interest in finishing her house. 

 So, for now, our half finished gingerbread house, sits on the table.

Christmas Activity #2

Saturday afternoon, the girls went with Laura and Ryan to the "big" Mansfield Christmas parade. I asked My how it was and she said there were lots of cars but no princess'. (I guess she's been around to many Disney parades.) She was happy that some people threw candy as they drove by. The big hit of the day was getting to see Santa. 

Christmas Activity Night 1

Once again, this Christmas season, we are doing a fun nightly activity to countdown the days until Jesus' birthday. Every morning, we pull a wrapped paper out of our tree, unwrap it and see what we get to look forward to when daddy gets home. 

 Friday night, Mylea was given the task of going angel tree shopping. We went to the mall for her to choose her angel. She looked around until she found a 5 year old girl. The girl was wanting many of the toys that Mylea liked so it was easy for Mylea to shop.

We went to Toys R Us to pick up items on the angels wish list. Mylea was happy to get her a doodle bear. Well, maybe not happy to give the girl a doodle bear but she was happy thinking that she would get to keep the doodle bear. When we returned back to the mall to drop off our clothes and toys, Mylea was still hoping that the doodle bear would be hers to keep. As soon as we turned the toys in, the tears began to fall. Mylea wanted to know why she wasn't getting to keep the toy since she did something good for the little angel girl. After explaining this girl had nothing and that Mylea was here to do something for another child, she still didn't like the idea of letting go of the doodle bear. Finally, after some long minutes and some long talks, My was ok with giving all the new toys away.

 We stopped by Cherry Berry on the way home to enjoy a sweet treat.

Fun Friday

Last Friday, I decided to change up our regular routine. We had been busy busy around the house and with church activities so it seemed like a good day for a fun Friday. I got the girls up and ready to go. We got in the car and Mylea had no idea where we were going. We spent some time at Chuck E Cheese and then headed to storytime at the library. The girls had a great time just having fun.
