My Little Cubbie Bear

This is Leightyn's first year in AWANAs. For those who have not heard about AWANAs, here is a brief summary off the AWANAs website.

"The Awana club for preschoolers is built on two premises:
• Young children can and should receive spiritual training.
• Home is the primary place for spiritual training.
Our preschool program meets these needs through …Fun – and lots of it!Awana is fun with a purpose – to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ. Games, puppets, crafts, awards and other activities transform our preschool program into a lively weekly experience where fun and learning go hand in hand".

Leightyn's Cubbie book has assignments for home every week. She works on Bible stories, activities, and a memory verse. When she gets to class Wednesday night, she is responsible for sharing her verse with the class and showing her home activity. During class, she also gets to see a Cubbie Bear puppet show, sing songs, listen to a Bible story, play games, and have a snack. When she learns so many verses, she gets a patch to put on her AWANAs vest. She says that she is now "cool like her friends".

Leightyn absolutely LOVES AWANAs. She always is asking if it is Wednesday....time to see Cubbie Bear. I caught her in the car the other day teaching her verse to Mylea.

Leightyn loves to sing in the car. She sings "Twinkle Twinkle", "The BIBLE", "I Am Happy", "Doggy Doggy", "Jesus Loves Me", and many more. The fuuniest thing to hear is when she makes up her own songs. Enjoy the video of her singing "Twinkle Twinkle".

Janet Huckabee nature Center

I took all of the girls to the nature center today. Although it was not at all what I expected, the girls had fun playing with the exhibits. We had a picnic down at the lake with the geese and ducks. Leightyn enjoyed chasing the birds around. Inside the nature center, we looked at a few fish, turtles, snakes, and frogs. Leightyn was upset that there were no zebras and monkeys there to play with.

New Sleeping Position

Yesterday we had a busy day. We had Macy, gymnastics, and AWANAs. Last night when Lei went to bed, she crashed. I went in to check on her and this is how I found her. Fast asleep and completely out of it. When I put her back in bed, she was not phased.

Silly Silly Girls

Here are some random pictures taken this week. These pictures are a window of what goes on at our house on a daily basis. I think of the song "You're Gonna Miss This" when I look at these pictures.

Big Girls Night

Leightyn and had a mom and daughter night at the fair. I had a blast spending time with just her. She loves all of the rides and was "sad cause she can't ride the really big fun rides". We enjoyed homemade potato chips and dippin dots.

Mylea's Birthday Party
